Jake Mehrens began his journey into the skiing world at the tender age of 2.  He first experienced his love for fresh pow on the slopes of Mt. Spokane.  It was here that he skied vigorously year after year until he jumped ship to the more backcountry driven terrain of Silver Mountain. While at Silver Jake obtained his Level One certification to begin instructing when he was just 16 years old.  It was on the slopes of Silver that he first shared his passion for epic verticals and pushing the limits with others.  At age 19 Jake flew the nest one more time, he was Tahoe bound and found himself at Northstar.  While at Northstar he developed the fundamentals and love of revolutionary jib sessions that he later passed on to young Schweitzer kiddies, the future of freestyle skiing.  Jake was rooted in Tahoe for a season before he landed himself the Freestyle Ski Coach position at Schweitzer Mountain in Sandpoint, Idaho.  Jake ended his second season with accompanying five of his skiers to the USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain in Colorado.  Jake loves representing Batwaves, shredding epic pow, spinning fire poi, and most of all he loves his BAD ASS girlfriend.
